My name is Paola Ospina, I was born in Cali, Colombia, and eventually moved to Miami, Florida at the age of twelve to live with my mother. A few years later, at the age of fifteen, I gave birth to my son, David. With the help of my mother, I was able to continue to attending high school and graduate on time. I am currently enrolled at Miami Dade College as a Nursing student. I enjoy spending time with my family, going out with my friends, shopping, and working out. After earning a bachelor's degree in Nursing, I plan on becoming a neonatal nurse. A neonatal nurse cares for babies up to 28 days after birth .
Teen pregnancy often leads to other social issues such as lack of education, child welfare, health issues, and single-parent homes. I chose this topic because as a teen mother, I have seen the difficulties of teen pregnancy firsthand and can provide relevant insight on this issue. Awareness is the best way to prevent teen pregnancy and hope to reach those currently dealing with this issue.
